Thank you, Joseph!

News Flash...you ARE an "art guy" -- whether you choose to be one or not.

Your words fully demonstrate this fact.

My experience of life is richer today because you chose to share your observations and reflections.

Thank you! ❤️

Joseph, I think that's the most beautiful, the most meaningful of your texts that I have read so far and I love many of your texts. It's a gift I needed today and I shall try to pass it on. Thank you so much.

Holy crap 😉. Words I needed today. I am familiar with The Wave, who isn’t? But I’ve never really thought about anything else than the boats are about to be annihilated by the powerful wave. This is going on my bulletin board:

You are small, but not powerless.

You are afraid, but not conquered.

You are imperfect, but not broken.

You are here.

Some days you row.

Some days you laugh.

Some days you simply hold.

And every one of those is a miracle.

Needed the lesson of the wave. Health challenges can overwhelm but I’m not defeated. Too stubborn about living life not just staying alive. Thank you, again for your willingness to share yourself.

OM Gosh... Wow. What a breathtaking examination of human lives expressed in art and objects. I often sense some kind of symbolism or meaning but you have put so many meaning-full words into the universe. I get what you are puttin' down!

Your essay resonates with me. I am not usually a poetry kind of guy but once in a while a piece of poetry speaks to me. When it does, it is deeply moving. I too in the face of adversity try to find humor. If I can laugh, the troubles do not have complete power over me. As a lay preacher, I have preached many funerals. If I can have the family and friends laughing through their tears, then healing can happen and hope starts to appear. I love this essay!

My daughter is a Korean major at Penn State. So, I always enjoy learning more about Korean culture so that I have something I can talk to her about. Thanks for sharing these thoughts on how to endure during these tough times.

I am not an art person. But I go to museums with my husband who is an art guy. He accepts my “ I know I like this but I’m not sure why” it is the emotion that grabs me and as he says “who cares why as long as you feel something the piece has spoken to you. “

Beautiful! Writing is your artistic expression. It offers connection to the art described and to our common humanity.

Thank you, Joseph, for your beautiful thoughts. We desperately need encouragement like this in this ever more discouraging world.

Thank you. I needed this today. Somehow, it is exactly the perceptions I needed to hold on.

Every time I read a line

Or hear a word from you. My eyes become your stanzas shadow, my ears peek through the world I once knew, my heart tumbles with wonder as your bright light enters the home of my soul like a glittering sunrise of awareness.

What is this new land I am in?

My name is not Alice nor Dorothy.

"Rose is a rose is a rose is a rose." I think of Ms. Stein, how inclusiveness can coexist with how we perceive identity.

With your words, I feel like I'm being shown another way to live more freely.

Like I've always knew my lungs helped me to breathe but with them, I can also scream.

Like I've always knew my eyes let me see, but with them, I can also touch things beneath the surface of my sight.

There is something igniting inside of me every time I read a line

Or hear a word from you.

I am peacefully afraid in a holy way.

Maybe what has always been before Genesis, by His grace, through you,

God is inviting me to realize something old that is new and true.

Thank you Reverand Joseph.🌷

Thank you for this today! I'd love to hear your take on the Silla Crown, or the Funeral Banner of Lady Dai. To know that humans have been grappling with faith, power, and mortality for eons.

Simply stunning. Art in verse form.

Dear Joseph:

Your words, your images… they are beautiful! They reach and resonate deeply. I don’t know how much it flowed or didn’t while writing it, how much effort it did or did not take to get the words on the page … but they are beautiful, pulsating, and speak truth and inspiration either way—and I experience their power just the same. Thank you!
